Like any new product that wants to enter the market, it is necessary to study some aspects before deciding whether to launch it or not. Based on the book "Competitive Strategy" by Michael E. Porter, different categories will be analyzed: substitute products, suppliers, customers and potential competitors.
Supplier: is the one that actually provides the means to develop the product. They are those with whom it is necessary to negotiate. Different categories can be distinguished, for example, material suppliers (such as the Arduino company), electronic components stores, engineers, programmers,... Smart-phones will also be needed for our product, therefore, some customers become suppliers.
Customers: they also take part in the negotiation. The main customers on which the product is oriented are: the architect and the home manager. The former, if he is looking for a new security system for the house, and the latter if he wants to update the current security system he has in place.
