Companies listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange
The Securities Market Law regulates, in addition to the investment promotion stock corporation (S.A.P.I.), the companies that place shares in the stock market: the stock exchange stock corporation (S.A.B.) and the stock exchange investment promotion stock corporation (S.A.P.I.B.).
The S.A.B. is a legal entity that requires financial resources to achieve its particular objectives, and for this purpose, it has the possibility of financing itself through the issuance of shares (variable income) and debt securities or bonds (fixed income).
The stock corporation trades its shares in the stock market; such shares are registered in the National Securities Registry and authorized by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
For the intermediation of securities and to bring together stock brokerage companies (offerors) and investors (demanders) in the securities market, there are brokerage firms, which are corporations that require authorization from the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) for their organization and operation. The authorization of brokerage firms, as well as any amendments thereto, will be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
